Although Javier Ruiz has not confirmed his departure from RTVE to become the director of La Séptima, a new DTT channel starting broadcasts in November, his move is taken for granted in the audiovisual industry. In fact, it has already triggered a cascade of changes in the schedules of La 1 and La 2. The first of these that EL PAÍS has been able to confirm is Gonzalo Miró’s jump to Malas lenguas, where from September he will be accompanied this new season by Esther Palomera in its La 2 segment.
Miró leaves his afternoon program on La 1, Directo al grano, which he had been presenting with Marta Flich until now, to become the host of Malas lenguas. In the political debate segment broadcast Monday to Friday on La 2 (from 17:45 to 19:35), the journalist will be accompanied by Esther Palomera, who has been a regular analyst on the program during that slot, as announced by Vertele, a portal that is part of elDiario.es.
This newspaper has confirmed that Palomera, who will continue as deputy director at elDiario.es, declined the possibility of also hosting the Malas lenguas segment broadcast on La 1 (from 19:35 to 20:25), a slot more focused on crime news. In that case, the favorite to accompany Miró is the Andalusian journalist Ana Hinestrosa, who last week said goodbye to her current affairs program on Canal Sur Hoy en día, which she had co-hosted since 2020, “to explore new worlds,” she said on air.
From August 3, Miró will take charge of Malas lenguas to replace Cintora during his vacation. This month, according to RTVE, Miró will be accompanied by journalist Ane Ibarzabal as co-host.

Jesús Cintora, until now the face of Malas lenguas, has requested RTVE to continue in charge of Malas lenguas noche, the live magazine that keeps growing in audience on Saturday nights on La 2. This move will not be fully finalized until the coming days, several sources close to the Malas lenguas format told EL PAÍS. Cintora’s natural destination, whose new contract with RTVE is still being finalized these days, is to host Mañaneros on La 1, the program that Javier Ruiz would leave to go to La Séptima. The initial intention, not yet formalized, is for the journalist to combine the La 1 mornings with the Saturday night program on La 2.
The fate of Silvia Intxaurrondo on La hora de La 1, the morning show before Mañaneros on RTVE’s main channel, has been up in the air for months. The presenter sued the public broadcaster at the end of 2025. Since then, she has been demanding the maintenance of certain economic conditions and prerogatives linked to her previous contractual relationship with the Corporation. The journalist has not returned to the show since she left it in mid-June for vacation, although at the time she announced on her social media that she would return with the start of the new season.
