TVE stirs up its correspondents: Lara Siscar to Rome, Begoña Alegría to Lisbon and more

TVE’s news services are preparing changes in their correspondents for the new season. Journalists Lara Siscar, Silvia Guerra, Melanie Stüber, and Begoña Alegría will be the new correspondents in Rome, London, Berlin, and Lisbon, respectively.

Lara Siscar (Gandía, 49 years old) will take over the TVE correspondent post in Rome, replacing Begoña Alegría. In the last season, Siscar was in charge of Lisbon, the very destination Alegría will now cover. Siscar, linked to TVE since 2007 when she joined Canal 24 horas, presented the Telediario Fin de Semana for six years, as well as presenting Informe semanal during that time. She has been a political reporter for the Telediarios and Los desayunos de TVE and has led debate and interview programs and special news coverage such as the Valencia flash flood.

Begoña Alegría (Vitoria, 61 years old) will move to Lisbon in place of Siscar. She was director of TVE News between 2018 and 2019. Before that, she had been deputy head of the National section of the Telediarios (from 2008 to 2014), presenter of the Telediario Matinal, and editor and presenter of the Madrid news. She was in the Rome correspondent post between 2020 and 2026, where she covered the illness and death of Pope Francis and the conclave that elected Leo XVI. Also the death of Berlusconi, the Lampedusa migration crisis, the elections that gave the presidency of the Italian Government to Giorgia Meloni, and the impact of Maradona’s death in Naples.

There will be more changes in the new season. Silvia Guerra (Madrid, 51 years old) will replace Diego Arizpeleta in the London correspondent post. She has been with TVE for two decades and joined the International area in 2020. She has been a special envoy to Iran and the Ukraine war. She has covered events such as the death of Queen Elizabeth of England from London and that of Pope Francis from Rome.

Finally, Melanie Stüber (Schweinfurt, Germany, 37 years old) will arrive at the Berlin correspondent post replacing Alberto Freile. She is a permanent employee by competitive examination at RTVE and has worked on La mañana, the Telediario Matinal, and Canal 24 horas, where she has presented news bulletins. From 2021 to the present, she has worked in the Society area of the Telediario, with special coverage such as the pope’s visit to Spain, the eruption of the Grindavík volcano in Iceland, forest fires, health crises, migration crises, or the Princess of Asturias Awards, and she has specialized in science and space topics.
