A 59-year-old man has been arrested by the National Police in Marbella for the murder of a woman, according to police sources. The victim was found in a home located on Castilla Street in San Pedro Alcántara with stab wounds. The alert was received at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.

Police sources have confirmed the arrest of the alleged perpetrator and the case is being investigated as an episode of gender-based violence. Police investigations indicate that the victim died as a result of the stabbing, although the autopsy will determine the number of wounds and the type of stabbing weapon used.
The murder of this woman occurred a few days after the confirmation of the gender-based crime of another woman in Benahavís (Málaga) on July 21, which raised to 36 the number of women killed by their partners and ex-partners so far this year, the worst figure since 2019.
