David Broncano: “I fear this may be my last appearance on TVE, we all know what can happen”

The host of La revuelta, David Broncano, has been one of the main protagonists of the presentation of the new 2026/2027 season of RTVE held this Wednesday at Prado del Rey. The show, which is moving to a new venue and relocating its stage to the Teatro Albéniz, returns to the schedule next Monday, September 7. “I fear this might be my last presentation on TVE. Let’s not fool ourselves, we all know what could happen. Depending on what happens in the March elections, Morante de la Puebla could perfectly replace me in September. I am really nervous,” said the comedian from Jaén during his debut in front of RTVE’s communications director, María Eizaguirre. “Do you have a cape? You know sometimes you have to go out and bullfight,” she replied, leading a gathering with the most well-known faces of the network. “I came a bit like a novice bullfighter today. Hopefully it won’t happen, but it’s something I have in mind,” he insisted ironically.

“New season, new theater, new government, it’s a lot of things,” added Ricardo Castella to the conversation. The co-director of the show, facing his third season on the public channel, insisted that the new season will be “incredible” and took the opportunity, following Broncano’s initial message, to sarcastically say goodbye to his channel colleagues “in case this is the last time we see each other.” Next to him was Grison, who joined in saying he was not nervous because he was now also the host of a family entertainment show on the channel, El escondite. “Contests are out of this,” Broncano reacted to his words.

Lalachus, star collaborator of La revuelta and co-host of Grand Prix, also spoke but to highlight a curious fact about the new stage of the show, the Teatro Albéniz in Madrid: “It smells good.” A joy also highlighted by Sergio Bezos, who returned to Broncano’s speech to emphasize that it was actually a shame because they wouldn’t be able to enjoy it much. Jokes aside, Broncano made it clear that the show will have more novelties than ever this year and expressed happiness with the new location and the upcoming season: “It’s a theater with much more presence and more beautiful that allows us more comedy possibilities. It’s one of the years I’m most excited to do the show, with no irony.”

The Teatro Albéniz is located very close to the previous one, just behind the Puerta del Sol, with an entrance on Calle de la Paz and an exit on Calle del Carnero. With this change, the stage of La revuelta will see its capacity increase in its third season on the public channel to 900 seats. The show will be part of La 1’s schedule at least until 2028. Initially, the contract was for two years and ended at the end of last season, but the show will continue competing for one more year with Pablo Motos’ El hormiguero. In terms of audience, the show hosted by David Broncano closed its second year on La 1 with good results, an average share of 11.6%, although it showed some wear compared to the first season.

Among the novelties planned by RTVE for the new season and shown at the presentation, MasterChef Celebrity Legends stands out, the contest El túnel, hosted by Jesús Vázquez, El escondite, hosted by Grison, the musical contest Hitster with Dani Martínez, or the second season of Los archivos secretos del No-Do. Also returning are El perro andaluz with Manu Sánchez, Al cielo con ella with Henar Álvarez, and at some point La cena de los idiotas, all with guests and talks of different tones. The premieres join well-established programs such as La hora de la uno or Mañaneros 360.
