A forest fire in Tordera (Barcelona) has forced the evacuation of some houses and the confinement of the Can Camps and Roca-Rossa residential areas in this town in the Maresme region. Around noon, the firefighters declared it stabilized.

According to the Firefighters, at 10:24 a.m. they received a report of this fire through the emergency phone 112, which initially affected a bus and later spread to the forest area near Camí Ral del Monestir, in Tordera.

The Firefighters, who have deployed eleven ground units and two aerial units, are focusing on preventing the fire from reaching some houses located nearby, which have already been evacuated by the local police.

Meanwhile, the Generalitat’s Civil Protection sent an Es-Alert message to residents at 11:12 a.m. this morning ordering the confinement of the Can Camps and Roca-Rossa residential areas due to the forest fire.
Catalonia faces an intense heat day this Saturday that has raised the fire risk, which is at level 4 extreme danger in 34 municipalities across 10 regions and level three, very high danger, in 356 municipalities, according to the Rural Agents.
