The routine has been back for a few days now. The schedules, the meetings, and the overwhelming calendar. But the desire to travel is always there. Because, as soon as you return home, it’s hard not to think about the next getaway.

Traveling has become one of those year-round desires that accompany us. There is always a motivation, a goal: the next long weekend, a few days off, that city you’ve wanted to visit for a while, or simply the need to change scenery are enough reasons to start imagining the next destination. And, often, also to plan it in advance.
Because the trip starts long before packing the suitcase. It begins when you seek inspiration, discover what you would like to do at your destination, and think about how you want to make the most of every moment. A good meal, a show, a cultural visit, an afternoon of shopping, or that place that doesn’t appear in the guides can end up becoming an essential part of the trip.
Precisely to help discover that kind of plans, Visa has created Visa Destinations, a platform that brings together a selection of carefully curated experiences in ten international destinations: Paris, London, Dubai, Milan, Rome, Mexico City, New York, Miami, San Francisco, and Thailand.
Experiences designed by local experts, because no one is satisfied with just arriving at the place: the goal is to live the city, enjoy experiences, create memories, attend shows, a sporting event, a unique restaurant, a musical… Visa Destinations takes care of selecting the most varied plans for Visa cardholders.
It also allows priority access to iconic places, such as the Louvre Museum in Paris or the Top of the Rock observation deck at Rockefeller Center in New York. Premium cardholders, including Visa Infinite and Visa Signature, also enjoy additional benefits and personalized experiences. Visa has partnered with leaders in the financial and tourism sectors, such as Santander Group, Global Blue, Star Alliance, and Trip.com Group, to offer exclusive advantages.

According to a report by the consulting firm Boston Consulting Group, the travel sector will grow by 10% in the coming years. Eduardo Prieto, general manager of Visa in Spain, assures that the travel sector has shown great resilience to global events and consumers continue to prioritize it: “Our latest Visa Global Travel Intentions study reveals that customers are willing to reduce other daily expenses to save for their trips.” He adds: “With Visa Destinations, we accompany travelers throughout their journey. We help them discover the moments that make a destination unforgettable.”
Traveling is also about choosing what to experience
The change in the way of traveling is related to an increasingly widespread idea: the destination is only the starting point.
Not everyone who visits a city expects the same from it, and for each traveler there are different ways to enjoy it. It is what happens in that city that can make a trip unforgettable. According to the Travel Trends 2026 study by Visa together with the Payment Innovation Hub, the number of people traveling to attend a sporting event has increased by 3% compared to the previous year. Cultural visits also continue to be one of the main drivers of tourism for Spaniards.
The platform responds to this diversity of interests by bringing together proposals linked to some of the main motivations of travelers in one place.
After registering, users can consult culinary recommendations, cultural offerings, special entertainment options, shopping, wellness spaces, as well as accommodations and different ways to get around the destination. The selection combines proposals designed by local experts with advantages and priority access to some of the main attractions of each destination.
This is a commitment that thus expands the role of your Visa during the trip. The company, a world leader in digital payments, presents Visa Destinations as a tool to accompany the user before, during, and after their trip, at a time when planning what to do has become a part of the tourist experience.
A network to travel with more advantages
The advantages are immense thanks to the company of the best international partners: Santander Group, Global Blue, Star Alliance, and Trip.com Group play a fundamental role in this project to bring travelers experiences that only the wisdom of a local could reveal. The collaboration covers areas as diverse as shopping, air transport, and trip planning.

Although Visa Destinations is currently available only in the ten selected destinations, the company plans to add several more before the end of the year. The goal is that the traveler does not have to start from scratch every time they land in an unfamiliar city: finding a restaurant, deciding which theater is worth it, locating which museum visit you don’t want to miss, or discovering the true rhythm of a city are essential parts of a trip and what could be better than always getting it right?
Because the decision is sometimes difficult and, thanks to Visa Destinations, the traveler’s time can be fully dedicated to enjoyment.
