The bullfighter José Antonio Morante de la Puebla has been gored by the fourth bull of the bullfight held this Monday in the Plaza de La Maestranza in Seville, the tenth event of the April Fair.

The bullfighter from Seville was trying to fix with the cape Clandestino, a bull from Hermanos García Jiménez weighing 512 kilos, when it came at his chest, knocking him down and, in an attempt to escape, apparently injuring him in the left gluteus. The bullfighter fell face down on the sand, clutching the area where he presumably sustained the goring, with clear gestures of pain, until the cuadrillas came to his aid to quickly take him to the plaza’s infirmary, where he is being attended to. In his place, Borja Jiménez fought the bull, leaving his montera at the infirmary door before starting the muleta work.

Due to this mishap involving Morante, who had already cut an ear from the bull with which the bullfight began, the event became a mano a mano between Borja Jiménez and Tomás Rufo, on an afternoon when the Seville bullring once again displayed the ‘No tickets’ sign.
