A 25-year-old man died on Saturday night in a street in Torrevieja (Alicante) due to a shooting in circumstances being investigated by the Civil Guard, according to sources from the investigation.

The incident occurred around 10:30 PM on Bergantín street, near El Cura beach, where several shots were fired and the victim, of Algerian nationality, had already died when the first officers arrived at the scene.
Everything indicates that the individual died from a bullet impact, although an autopsy is pending at the Institute of Legal Medicine to confirm the exact cause of death.
With the support of the Criminalistics Laboratory of the Alicante Command, the territorial judicial police team of the Torrevieja Civil Guard has taken over the investigation to gather all possible evidence to clarify what happened, within an investigation led by a city court with no arrests so far.
