A 54-year-old worker who was working this Friday on the remodeling of Camp Nou has lost his life after being hit in the head by a work machine. The Mossos d’Esquadra received a notice at 3:30 p.m. that one of the workers involved in the renovation of FC Barcelona’s stadium had been injured in a work accident. A medical emergency team tried to revive the victim without success. Now, agents are investigating what happened.

Several police units from the Les Corts police station, the Mossos d’Esquadra investigation unit, and an ambulance from the Medical Emergency System have been dispatched to the stadium. Paramedics tried to revive the worker on site without success.
The Mossos d’Esquadra have informed the duty investigating court and the Department of Business and Labor of the incident. An investigation has been opened to clarify what happened. Apparently, the victim died after receiving a strong blow from one of the machines used in the construction of the new stadium.
