A 78-year-old French man drowned this Saturday while swimming at the beach of Lloret de Mar (Selva). According to the Civil Protection of the Generalitat, the emergency phone 112 received the alert at 3:15 p.m. this afternoon.

The victim was pulled from the water unconscious and resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The Medical Emergency Service (SEM) deployed three ground units and one air unit to the scene, while the Mossos d’Esquadra provided three more units and the local police were also activated.
