The Local Police of Castilleja de la Cuesta (Seville) has reported the driver of a vehicle who had four times the maximum alcohol limit, who, after taking the test, told the officers that he had not been drinking, and that the problem was the vinegar in the gazpacho he had consumed.
On their official social media, the Police reported that the officers intercepted the mentioned driver after observing him driving with strange maneuvers, not using the seatbelt, and manually using the mobile phone. Upon identifying him, the officers noticed obvious symptoms compatible with alcohol consumption, so he was subjected to the corresponding breathalyzer tests, which showed a result of one milligram of alcohol per liter of exhaled air, four times the allowed maximum of 0.25, in addition to the criminal threshold being set at 0.60.

After informing him of the level he had shown, the driver, dissatisfied with the result, told the police that he had only had gazpacho, and that the vinegar used to make it would have raised his blood alcohol level. After this explanation, he was informed of the rights he had as a suspect, not detained, for an alleged crime against road safety, punishable by prison sentences of three to six months, fines of six to twelve months, or community service of 31 to 90 days, as well as the withdrawal of the driving license for one to four years, which will be determined in a summary trial.
