Contrary to what the bullfighter himself had announced, Morante de la Puebla has finally accepted the offer from the company Plaza 1 and will make the paseíllo on October 12 at the Las Ventas bullring, the day that marks one year since his farewell from the bullrings at this same plaza.
The news is not surprising since two months after his retirement he was convinced by the new manager of La Maestranza, José María Garzón, to appear four afternoons at the April Fair and a fifth at the upcoming San Miguel Fair in September, which marked the start of a season full of contracts; proof of this is that to date he has participated in 18 bullfights, and today he was scheduled to make the paseíllo in San Sebastián, although a kidney colic has forced him to rest for a few days.
Behind is that event of October 12, 2025, when Morante de la Puebla went to the center of the ring and to the surprise of all attendees cut his braid in a ceremony as unexpected as it was full of emotion for everyone and tears from the protagonist.
A year later he will return to bullfight in Madrid as if nothing had happened, and he attends the plaza as the main protagonist of a fair composed of five bullfights, in which the young Marco Pérez, Mario Navas, and Aarón Palacio will confirm their alternatives, along with two novilladas.
