Rovira square won this Wednesday the decorated streets contest of the Gràcia Festival 2026 with its proposal Basticaforoviruskas, a setup that celebrates twenty years of neighborhood tradition and the twentieth anniversary of the album Batiscafo Katiuscas, the fifth album of the Mallorcan pop group Antònia Font.

The winning square obtained a total of 435 points with a scenography that immerses the visitor in the marine depths through the architecture and songs of the Balearic group. The second prize went to Mozart street, with The Enchanted Invernacle, and the third to Llibertat street, with a recreation of The Lord of the Rings made together with four other streets.
This year’s edition featured a total of 23 streets and squares, as well as 52 balconies and doorways that have a separate prize, a figure that represents an increase in citizen participation compared to the previous year. In addition to the main podium, the jury awarded various special mentions for technical aspects, such as Progrés street, which won the prize for the best entrance. Verdi street stood out for its ceiling and sides, Tordera street for its lighting, and Fraternitat de Baix street received recognition for the best artistic detail, while Ciutat Real street received a special mention for the recovery of historical memory.
Other distinctions went to Nord square for its work in reusing material, especially for the use of more than sixty books, and to Sant Miquel small square for its commitment to technological innovation.

The awards were presented this Wednesday in a large event held in Vila de Gràcia square, where the president of the Festa Major de Gràcia Foundation, Lina López, claimed that the neighborhood is “the resistance” of popular culture and community life. López highlighted the importance of defending these values and recalled that the decoration is the “main identity sign” of Vila de Gràcia.
Along the same lines, the district president, Victòria Alsina, valued the enthusiasm of hundreds of “partygoers” who work all year round in a handcrafted way. The event also featured the intervention of the Gràcia councilor, Laia Bonet, who emphasized that today “the identity and brotherhood” of the neighborhood are celebrated.
