The ubiquitous guest shows are starting to show signs of fatigue on TVE. The public broadcaster, which had trusted Loles León as its Sunday bet for La 2, has decided after two months of airing to pull the plug due to low ratings on its celebrity talk show Zero dramas, as El Confidencial anticipated and EL PAÍS confirms.
The show, which even spent a week trying out in La 1’s late night slot without much success, will air its thirteenth and final episode this Sunday, May 24, which will be preceded by Me meto en un jardín with Mercedes Milá, the format that will formally replace it starting next week at 10:30 PM. Following that double broadcast, this same Sunday will also feature Lo que pasó, pasó, a “gossip” show hosted by former Sálvame star Nuria Marín, which will be available earlier on the RTVE Play platform.
Zero dramas, which premiered on March 8, lasted two and a half months on the schedule and achieved an average of 255,333 viewers and a 2.7% audience share, below La 2’s strong 3.3% share this May. Loles León’s show, co-hosted by Marina Rivers or Mónica Cruz, discussed current and social issues such as online hate, pornography, or swingers in a talk show with famous faces, but its audience has been declining since its debut.
Me meto en un jardín will also focus on interviews with celebrities, though with a different approach. Mercedes Milá will chat in these already recorded episodes with Sor Lucía Caram, Marc Giró, Miguel Ángel Revilla, and Óscar Camps from unique gardens, with the famous host delving into potentially controversial topics. Writer David Uclés debuts the format with a trip to Quesada (Jaén).
