The world faces a growth slowdown that could drag some countries into recession “or close to it,” according to forecasts published this Wednesday by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The worst-case scenario considered by the organization, with the Strait of Hormuz blocked well into 2027, estimates global GDP growth of only 2.1% in 2026, worsening to 1.8% in 2027. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) has denounced a US attack on one of its communications towers located on Qeshm Island, in an offensive confirmed by the US Central Command (Centcom). The US military command confirmed that it attacked this military ground control station after Iran launched ballistic missiles towards neighboring countries, including Kuwait and Bahrain, none of which reached their targets.

They are open wars aimed at expelling the population and making the territory uninhabitable for its residents by destroying all its infrastructure.
