On the night of this Thursday, a video was released showing a group of hooded individuals stabbing three students of the National University of Colombia inside the Bogotá campus. One of the young men, a student leader, was taken to a clinic and remains in serious condition.

The university rector, José Ismael Peña, criticized what happened through a statement published on his social media. “We reject the acts of violence that occurred last night at the University City, which resulted in personal injuries to three students, one of whom had to be taken to the clinic in serious condition,” reads Peña’s statement: “No difference justifies violence.” He added: “Institutional protocols for care, support to the victims, and safeguarding of information have been activated.”
