Two serious hit-and-runs at dawn in Madrid

Two serious hit-and-run accidents occurred in the capital last night, according to a spokesperson from Emergencias Madrid. The victims of these two separate incidents are a 25-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle and a 60-year-old man who was riding an electric scooter when he was struck by a car. Both suffer from severe traumatic brain injuries.

The first hit-and-run occurred around five in the morning on Ciudad de Barcelona Avenue, near number 190. A 25-year-old young man was hit by the driver of a car.

Relatively close to where the young man was lying on the ground, there was a crosswalk, but it is currently unknown if the accident happened while the young man was crossing it. The victim suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, and the vehicle driver had to be treated for an anxiety attack by Samur psychologists.

The second hit-and-run was recorded on Alcalá Street, near number 552. The victim is a 60-year-old man who was riding a scooter and was hit by the driver of a vehicle who fled the scene.

Samur stabilized, intubated, and transported both patients in serious condition, the first to Gregorio Marañón Hospital and the second to La Paz. The Madrid Municipal Police are investigating the incidents.
