The Navarrese naturopath Txumari Alfaro, known for presenting the TVE program La Botica de la abuela in the late nineties, passed away this Saturday in Pamplona at the age of 73. According to the obituary, the funeral will be held tomorrow, Monday, in the parish church of Santa María de la Esperanza de Doniantzu, in the Navarrese town of Zizur Mayor.
Born in Arguedas (Navarra) in 1952, Alfaro became a popular television personality thanks to the show where he gave home remedies for various ailments or health problems, from cellulite, alopecia, or male impotence. Alfaro used natural ingredients in his advice such as lemon, honey, oregano, garlic, onion, or cherry stems. However, his recommendations sometimes generated controversy and accusations of giving advice not based on science.
After his time on TVE, he worked on other television channels, such as Antena 3 or Telecinco. He also wrote some books.
