A 53-year-old man died last night as a result of injuries he received in a street fight in Barcelona’s Horta-Guinardó district, EFE sources from the Mossos d’Esquadra have reported.

The events occurred shortly before half past ten at night in Barcelona’s Meguidó square, where a street fight involving several people began.

The Catalan police and Barcelona’s Guàrdia Urbana dispatched several units to the scene, where they found a seriously injured man. The victim was transferred by medical personnel from the Medical Emergency System (SEM) to a hospital, where he eventually died. The case, which is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC), is under judicial secrecy.
