A 39-year-old man died early Thursday morning after being struck in the chest by the bucket of a backhoe while performing maintenance work in a tunnel on the C-5 commuter line, between the Laguna and Embajadores stations.
The incident was recorded around 00:55, when the 112 Community of Madrid received a call alerting them to the mentioned work accident. Upon arrival at the scene, the Summa 112 personnel found the worker, who had a severe chest trauma and cardiopulmonary arrest, according to Emergencies of the Community of Madrid.

However, after about 40 minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the service itself confirmed the death of this worker, who belonged to an external contractor and was performing track maintenance work at that time.
Likewise, members of the Madrid City Fire Department have intervened, as well as the Madrid Municipal Police, which has opened an investigation into the events.
