National Police officers arrested an 85-year-old man on the morning of this Saturday for his involvement in the death of a 47-year-old woman in the Madrid district of Arganzuela. The detainee called his son after 11 a.m. alerting him that he had just committed “a serious act.” It was the father who raised the alarm and the CIMACC 091 Room transmitted the alert.

Officers from the National Police Citizen Attention Group (GAC), Municipal Police officers, and health services went to the home on Ferrocarril street, a few meters from the Delicias Renfe station. There, the man, who was already waiting for them, promptly opened the door. Inside was the woman’s body lying on the floor in cardiorespiratory arrest. Resuscitation maneuvers were initiated until the arrival of Summa 112 health personnel, who ultimately confirmed the death.
The victim, according to statements by Luis Serrano, spokesperson for Emergencies 112, showed signs of violence and had been “strangled,” although the autopsy will determine the exact causes of death. The Violent Crimes Group of the Provincial Scientific Police Brigade and Homicide Group VI have gone to the scene and will take charge of the investigation to try to find out the causes of what happened and arrest the perpetrator.

The detainee and the murdered woman lived together but were not a couple. She, of Asian origin, was the detainee’s ex-daughter-in-law. The main hypothesis at this time is that the homicide was committed as a result of a conflict over her staying in the property.
