The Barcelona City Council has assisted more than 47,000 immigrants applying for the regularization process and has issued nearly 30,000 vulnerability certificates. Until this week, the Council has attended to applicants in five different locations in the city and will now concentrate them in Pavilion 2 of Fira de Barcelona, the Miquel Bleach center, and the Monumental Citizen Service Office (OAC) on Saturdays, the City Council reported this Sunday in a statement.
Pavilion 2 of Fira centralizes the distribution of service turns, which indicate the place and time slot to be attended, allowing for “faster and more agile service without queues,” the city council stated.
Since the beginning of last week, Pavilion 2 has hosted a comprehensive support device for regularization through which more than 4,000 people have passed, including turn distribution and also offering general information services, document review, digital certificate processing, and support for processing.
The space is managed by the Immigrants, Emigrants and Refugees Service (SAIER) with the collaboration of Red Cross teams.
From May 26, Pavilion 2 will have service hours from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the Miquel Bleach center will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., both Monday to Friday. For people who cannot complete procedures during the week, the Monumental OAC will be open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
