Cara Delevingne confesses to Rosalía: “My weakness used to be heterosexual women”

Cara Delevingne (London, 33 years old) has been Rosalía’s second guest in her confessional in London, after Lola Young, who attended the premiere of the Lux Tour in the British capital. The model, actress, entrepreneur, writer, and now also singer was the other main protagonist of Wednesday’s concert by going on stage and being part of the show by telling her story. Just arrived from the Met Gala in New York, held last Monday, Delevingne told the artist that she had been very naughty and wanted to make her sexual orientation clear: “Didn’t you know? I’m a lesbian. My weakness used to be heterosexual women.” “What’s so special about that? I’ve heard it many times. That’s the challenge,” the Spanish singer intervened. “It’s because, in general, I don’t think anyone is completely heterosexual. And I also don’t think men knew how to please their girlfriends well enough,” the model replied. “She said what she said,” added the Spanish singer. “I did,” the model concluded.

Delevingne is in a relationship with British singer Leah Mason ―known as Minke―, whom she has known for 20 years, and which became public in 2022: “I’m in a serious relationship, but the thing is I always loved being the dominant one, I liked having control, but I think it’s because, actually, I was afraid of being seen. I was scared of being submissive because I didn’t want to receive love, but now I think I’m ready. I just want to know that even if I’m submissive I don’t want to lose that part of me that can still be like that dominant and fiery Leo that I am,” Delevingne highlighted. The author of Berghain insisted that she could be both, and the British singer reacted with a daring “I just want to make sure you know that.” “Cara, this confession impacted me a lot, it really did,” Rosalía admitted, who is currently linked to Brazilian model Loli Bahia.

“My ring says lesbian,” Cara Delevingne concluded, effectively showing that accessory she wears on her finger. “Well, Cara, now that you’re in the music world you also know you have to be careful because there are many loose pearls,” Rosalía concluded, thanking her companion for participating in the confessional before singing La Perla, one of the most awaited moments by many during her concerts for whoever confesses first to the artist.

“Thank you Rosalía for letting me confess my secrets tonight. We’ll be on the lookout for the pearls [sic],” the model later wrote in a story posted on her Instagram account.

The British model became one of the highest-paid top models in the industry. After a few years focused on her career as an actress and entrepreneur, she is now betting on her facet as a singer, which will take her next June to the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona. “I’m excited to announce my first headlining concerts! I’ve been rehearsing intensely and can’t wait to perform these shows,” she wrote last April on her Instagram profile, where she has almost 40 million followers.

Delevingne is not confessing her personal life for the first time, as she is known for her LGTBIQ+ activism. She came out as bisexual in The Telegraph in 2014 and, since then, it is rare that in her encounters with the press she does not try to dismantle stereotypes or symbolically fight for the full rights of the community. Additionally, in 2017 she publicly denounced Harvey Weinstein and said he had tried to kiss her after a work meeting. “One of the first things he told me was: ‘You will never succeed in this industry being a lesbian, find a cover.’” The truth is she has never hidden her sexuality, thus becoming a role model for many: “It took me a long time to accept the idea, until I fell in love with a girl at 20 and recognized that I had to accept it. Women are what completely inspire me,” she admitted in Vogue.
