The first qualifying session of the Spanish GP at the Madring circuit took place this afternoon and the pole position went to Lando Norris. The McLaren driver won the qualifying and will start first this Sunday after achieving a great lap on his last attempt to snatch the best time from the World Championship leader, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who will start second. Verstappen was third, with Alonso and Sainz eliminated in Q1.
It has been one of the best qualifying laps of my career. I am really looking forward to this first race in Madrid.

Norris takes the qualifying! The British driver takes the first pole at the Madring circuit on his last lap attempt. Antonelli was leading the timed session, but the Brit has taken the win ahead of the World Championship leader. Qualifying after Q3:

Hamilton currently leads the last session with the Mercedes drivers pressing behind, especially the World Championship leader, Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Verstappen is currently fifth, ahead of the McLarens, who occupy sixth and seventh place. We will see what happens in the last attempt of the day.
Q3 begins!
13 minutes of session to find out the qualifying winner, who will start first for Sunday’s race. Verstappen dominated Q2, we will see if the rest of his pursuers have something saved for this last session.

Only six minutes remain until the end of the session. We have already seen Antonelli lock up on a braking that he barely saved before going into the wall. Right now Alonso, Albon, Checo Pérez, Stroll, Bottas, and Bearman are out.
