Marc Biarnés (Barcelona, 33 years old) has what is most valued on social media: an expressiveness that is uniquely his own. His way of rolling his eyes while peeling a piece of fruit or slightly furrowing his brow while preparing toast belongs only to him. If many influencers have found a niche in telling stories while doing their makeup, Biarnés has found it in exploiting that old feeling of “Why did I come to the kitchen?” while analyzing current political and social affairs. Between TikTok and Instagram, over a million and a half followers are hooked. One day, presenter Germán González said: “I look like Nosoloviernes” while sending a message to his followers as he peeled a potato. There is, therefore, a Biarnés style.
What does it feel like to turn the analysis of stupidity into your job? It’s satisfying, something I didn’t expect. I also believe that it is now very necessary to analyze life, whether daily, political, or everyday, because there is too much noise in society and a lot of gray cloud. It even works well for me. Thanks to making the videos, I’m organizing my thoughts better. It helps me have a more organized structure of everything that happens.
To analyze stupidity, one must be intelligent. Are you ashamed to say aloud that you are? No. Although I consider myself an intelligent person, I would like to know much more. Every day I try to learn something new, read about new things, and soak up a bit of everything. I’ve always been a know-it-all.
Right now, many are proud to be dim-witted. Right now, it’s the most dangerous thing there is. The human stupidity and levels of ignorance have never been so high and are wreaking havoc. I’d say it’s the worst thing happening to us. And I think it was a plan. I don’t know exactly whose, but it was the plan and it’s working out perfectly. The more noise there is, the more ignorant people are. Although one also lives happier. Sometimes I’d like to be more ignorant.

Where did the idea of talking while peeling a tangerine come from? In a completely improvised way. I recorded a video eating and saw that it was funny, so now it’s part of all the acting in my videos. It’s a staging. I won’t lie to you: I’ve always looked for some advertising from the gastronomic world to find a way to sustain myself with this. But it hasn’t caught on, I don’t understand why. I guess I’m not a very wholesome profile.
The WHO should make him an ambassador, he eats more pieces of fruit than anyone. And I changed it, because when I started making videos eating, the foods I showed weren’t the healthiest. When I realized so many people were watching me, I wanted to try to promote healthier eating. Most of the comments I receive tell me that, suddenly, they crave a peach.
“I believe that any man, even if he doesn’t believe it or doesn’t know it, almost innocently, without realizing it, believes himself superior to any woman”
But you are the WHO! I have more discernment than the WHO.
You also excel at political humor. I think so, and at this point, I believe we can already say it’s a genre. It’s absolutely necessary because we are at a time when people are exhausted, politically speaking. Unfortunately, some people disconnect from the political world because, besides the speed at which politics is moving right now, it’s overwhelming. I’ve found a way for the viewer to feel involved in politics without feeling like they’re being scolded, which is what many people do. Many content creators do political analysis from a place of scolding and anger. That makes people disconnect even more because the last thing they want is to be lectured.

Do you have any references within this genre? My reference has always been Andreu Buenafuente. The truth is, I don’t consume comedy to avoid contaminating myself. Many times, imitators emerge, and people can tell they are imitating or copying someone. I like to keep the brand pure. I am the Aryan race of humor (laughs).
There’s a lot of debate, on television and in common phrases, about whether it’s appropriate to sleep with a ‘facha’ (fascist). I think once you cum, everything has passed. I understand that often, physical attraction is enough for a hot moment, because we don’t necessarily need our minds to be fucked. Not all sex has to be intellectual or involve conversation. Then, once your libido drops, you say: get out of my bed.
People are still talking about that Xokas video where he says he would never date a woman like Ester Expósito. It’s just that he thinks that, and it’s not the only clip I’ve seen where he has these airs. I believe that any man, even if he doesn’t believe it or doesn’t know it, almost innocently, without realizing it, believes himself superior to any woman. These are thoughts that, after 12 hours live, which is how long he’s on, make you let your mind wander. What we’re seeing is a mind without any brakes. And the worst part is that everything that happens in front of a camera, in the solitude of the character, is multiplied by four. That is, if you say that in front of a camera, it means that in a bar or at home with 12 friends, the comments you make are much worse. Furthermore, especially in the world of highly self-confident straight men, we’re talking about very strong feedback. They feed off each other daily in any conversation, and that boosts them even more. I believe there are people who might find themselves in a position to think they’d have a chance with Expósito and would reject her. Sometimes the mind can be very dissociated.
“Time is running out for all these influencers who don’t take a stand because I believe society is taking a turn, and people who consume content creators are increasingly less willing to see profiles that simply show them going to Bali or selling you an eyeliner“
There are many influencers afraid to take a political stance. What do you think about that? I think it’s a lost opportunity. It is us, the citizens, who have to take a stand, no matter what we work as. And if we also have a platform and a whole league of followers behind us, why not? Ultimately, everyday life and political life have to move you internally. Because you have to worry about something, get angry about something, or enjoy something. Time is running out for all these influencers who don’t take a stand because I believe society, and I hope I’m not wrong, is taking a turn, and people who consume content creators are increasingly less willing to see profiles that simply show them going to Bali or selling you an eyeliner. They show, without any hesitation, that they are people who live completely detached from reality. There’s a tremendous social disconnect. The lifestyle and beauty trend is going to hell. Many followers of these accounts might have been 16 when they started following them, and now they’re starting to pay rent. They are facing problems for the first time, and at the same time, that person is going to Bali, tomorrow they’re on a yacht in Ibiza, and the day after tomorrow, who knows where. And they are here with their cardboard straw, recycling, and in an apartment they can’t afford. It’s an absolute disconnect. People were looking to empathize with others, and I have few things to empathize with a millionaire.
Can you tell me anything about your book, Manifesto of a Decomposing Society? I can tell you that it’s already being laid out and that it’s a very deep reflection on how human stupidity is gaining ground and anesthetizing us in such a way that it no longer catches our attention or moves us at all. Before, families were ashamed of the foolish son. Now, with this ode to ‘be happy’ and ‘be whoever you are,’ everyone has a podcast. Full freedom has been given to be an idiot outside the home and with absolute peace of mind. It’s a dog chasing its tail because if all the idiots have come out in droves and the idiot has reached a podcast, it means he’s going to have a whole league of idiotic followers who will applaud him. The book is depressing and funny.
To finish, let’s be frank. I signed the text that you laughed at on your social media about “the revolution of cosmetics for the male anus”. I love it! What a fantasy!
