New scare for Jamal Musiala. The young German, who suffered a similar episode against Leipzig three days ago, collapsed four minutes after entering the field in Bayern’s friendly against Heidenheim this Tuesday. But Musiala himself sent a message of reassurance after the incident, confirming that he is fine. The German explained that the episodes he has recently suffered are due to a neurological dysfunction that causes him “brief and temporary episodes of absence,” although he assured that they are easily treatable.
“I know they may seem frightening at first glance, but for me, currently they are simply part of my daily life. I am receiving the best possible medical care and I am very optimistic,” said the player, who confirmed that he is following the specialists’ instructions and has the support of Bayern and his closest circle.
Musiala also made it clear that, with the approval of neurological specialists, he has decided to continue playing football. “I have taken responsibility for that decision,” he stated. The footballer also assured that there are no additional health risks beyond the episodes he has experienced.
The player did ask, however, to keep the situation within his closest circle, the club, and the experts following his case. “What helps me most on the way is to keep pursuing victories and titles with my team,” he concluded.
