Sentenced to 15 years in prison a defendant accused of planning an attack at a Taylor Swift concert

An Austrian court sentenced a 21-year-old young man to 15 years in prison this Thursday after he admitted to planning a foiled Islamist attack that was to take place during a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna, the Austrian capital, at the Ernst Happel stadium in 2024. The young man was found guilty of several crimes, mainly related to terrorism.

The trial of two 21-year-olds began in late April amid significant security measures. The two suspects, an Austrian and a Slovak, entered the courtroom in the city of Wiener Neustadt, about 50 kilometers from Vienna, with their faces covered and handcuffed.
