Several explosions have been recorded this Saturday near the Iranian island of Jarg, in the Persian Gulf, according to several Iranian media outlets, which claim that US forces targeted a small tanker.
The Tasnim news agency, linked to the Revolutionary Guard, the parallel army that supports the Islamic regime, has reported that a small tanker was attacked by the US military 10 kilometers from the island. According to Tasnim and the Nournews news portal, the vessel was hit by four projectiles, but the crew is safe and the unloading process of its tanks could begin. So far there has been no official confirmation, neither Iranian nor American, about this possible attack.
The island of Jarg managed 90% of Iran’s oil exports before the war started by the United States and Israel last February 28. An offensive on its facilities would seriously affect its economy, already harmed by the blockade and Washington’s sanctions.
