The Civil Guard has arrested a teacher working at a school in the Sierra de Aracena (Huelva) as the alleged perpetrator of several sexual assault crimes against minors, consisting of groping, according to complaints from several victims. According to the investigation, at least four underage students have recounted the same episodes. According to their testimonies, the teacher performed groping in intimate or sensitive areas during classes and, in some cases, during extracurricular activities at the school.

The agents began the investigation following the complaints filed. During the proceedings, they took statements from the minors in the presence of their legal guardians, as well as from witnesses to the events. After gathering all the data and other evidence, they proceeded to arrest the teacher.
The arrested individual has been placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, which has ordered his imprisonment. The investigations remain open to determine if there are more students who may have been victims of the alleged assaults.

For its part, the Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training has reported that the teacher was immediately suspended from duties as soon as the Administration became aware of the facts. Likewise, the corresponding protocol was activated and a report was prepared by the Educational Inspection.
The Ministry has reiterated its “maximum cooperation” with the investigation and the ongoing judicial process, while emphasizing its willingness to collaborate with the Civil Guard in everything necessary to clarify the facts.
