During the trial of the mask scheme, Ábalos points out that “Jésica said she was not going to work without anyone asking her that. She said she was paid without going to work, without anyone asking her; she said she did not know Mr. Aldama, when I met her through him. I am convinced that she does not say that unless she has been coerced. She cannot incriminate herself in something if she has not previously been told ‘say this and nothing will happen to you.’ I am convinced. I know her and no one, besides, does that. No one says they are not going to work when they have made sure to clock in every day, to appear as if they were going to work.”
“I would like to clarify, since I am here, if this person has been coerced. I assure you that I know her and I find no reason for her to deny knowing Mr. Aldama, unless there is some matter they have settled,” José Luis Ábalos has pointed out.
