The Valencia City Council has suspended activities in educational centers in flood-prone areas and affected by the city’s DANA from 2 p.m. this Wednesday, September 16, a total of 26 centers, due to the orange alert activated for the forecast of heavy rains and storms. In these centers, the provision of the dining service is guaranteed until 3 p.m., according to the measures announced by the city council.

The Ministry of Emergencies and Interior, through the Emergency Coordination Center (CCE) of the Generalitat, has activated an orange level alert for this Wednesday throughout the province of Valencia due to the forecast of rains and storms with accumulations of 40 liters per square meter in one hour and the possibility of exceeding 80 liters per square meter in two or three hours.
The centers affected by this decision are the private Nuestra Señora del Rosario-Trinitarias, the CEIP Forn d’Alcedo, Padre Manjón, the Private Music School Santa Cecilia Castellar-Oliveral and the instructional center, the IES Ravatxol, the CEIP Castellar-Oliveral, the private centers Sambori, FP CFFOlgado, Rosa Llácer, Formiguetes, the Private Music School Sedajazz, the centers Universitat Popular Castellar-Oliveral, Forn d’Alcedo and La Torre, and the occupational center of this district.
Those affected by the suspension in flood-prone areas are the CEIP Camí de l’Horta de Benimàmet-Beniferri and José Senent de Massarojos, the IES Isabel de Villena and the CEIP Blasco Ibáñez of Valencia, the Private Music School El Palmar and the Massarrojos Musical Group, and the Centre Universitat Popular Poble Nou, Carpesa, Massarrojos and El Palmar.
The centers in the districts of El Saler and Pinedo have been informed that from 3 p.m. activities should be moved indoors or plans made for student departure and pickup.
In the rest of the city’s educational centers, it has been communicated that from 3 p.m. all planned activities should be carried out indoors.
Also, from 2 p.m. tomorrow, outdoor sports activities organized by the Municipal Sports Foundation are suspended, and parks, gardens, and libraries located within them, the Turia Garden, and cemeteries will be closed.
The extraordinary market on the Paseo Marítimo is suspended, as well as the scheduled day of the Fallas Congress and the Metrominuto Challenge activity of the European Mobility Week, and the CAES meteorological alert center in Carmen is opened.
The Valencia City Council has reported that Firefighters, Local Police, Civil Protection, and other municipal services are mobilized to monitor the episode of rains and storms.
