Carolina Tohá, the former Interior Minister of Gabriel Boric’s Government, analyzes in a new episode of the program De esto se habla, a production of the newspaper EL PAÍS and Radio ADN, hosted by Rocío Montes and Rafael Cavada, the first month of José Antonio Kast’s Administration at La Moneda. The PPD militant, from social democracy, reflects on the Executive’s economic proposals, which push a mega reform with a tax focus, criticized by the opposition mainly for not considering compensations. Tohá also refers to the management of Minister Trinidad Steinert in the Ministry of Security, the steps of the opposition—especially among mayors—and what she considers the “ideological agenda” of President Kast. “I thought the Government would be more pragmatic, more realistic,” she assures.
