It is a French series from 2016 that is now airing on Netflix. Created by Hamid Hlioua, its simple title, Cannabis, makes clear the subject it deals with: the production of marijuana, its sale, consumption, and the consequences of all this.

And it is worth providing a fact from the European Union Drug Agency (EUDA) to better understand the situation and the tensions generated by the business: it is estimated that cannabis trafficking in Europe moves between 11.4 and 11.6 billion euros annually.
Experts, even common sense, recommend that every fiction should have a striking beginning in order to capture the attention of the viewer or reader. Hlioua’s series meets this recommendation: a fishing boat coming from Morocco is boarded off the Spanish coast and someone steals its large cargo of marijuana. The problem is that this cargo belonged to an important and cruel drug trafficker, El Feo, an excellent Pedro Casablanc, coincidentally based in the fiction in Marbella, the town in Málaga that has given so much material to celebrity gossip and crime pages since Gil y Gil and Pantoja. Nothing is left to chance in the audiovisual industry.
Cannabis trafficking has three essential locations in the plot: Morocco, the southern coast of Spain, and the outskirts of Paris; add some love story, two or three murders, a few tough guys, and the result is six episodes of a first season that is watched with interest.

But anyway… we will always have Japan if what you are looking for are striking plots as is the case with The Face of Revenge. Don’t miss the synopsis offered by Movistar Plus: “After four years in a coma, Nozomi wakes up and discovers that her son has died and her husband remarried.” The accident she suffered while pregnant was caused and she seeks revenge. You can’t say more in less.
Naturally, to seek revenge you have to get close to those she suspects are responsible for her misfortune and, since the accident required facial reconstruction, nothing prevents her from entering to work in the house of the one who took her place in the romantic relationship. So she enters the service of the Mido family under a false identity to serve the family. The drama is served and its director, Okamoto Koichi, will narrate it with sober efficiency.
