Service on Metro Madrid’s Line 10 between Plaza Castilla and Cuzco resumed without incident this Tuesday after improvement works, while the section of the same line between Cuzco and Nuevos Ministerios will remain interrupted due to works, having been closed since March 28. Specifically, Metro Line 10 (Hospital Infanta Sofía-Puerta del Sur) has been interrupted since July 4 between Nuevos Ministerios and Plaza de Castilla due to improvement works at Cuzco station.

Once completed, service on the section between Plaza de Castilla and Cuzco resumed from six in the morning, the time the subway opens. The works, with a budget of 1.7 million euros (VAT included), have allowed for the waterproofing of the infrastructure, as well as tasks for the removal of asbestos from the station vault and the various technical rooms.

Thus, from this Tuesday, the suspension of service on L10 will again be between Nuevos Ministerios and Cuzco until the end of the year, with the special bus service maintained at all times. This temporary closure of Line 10 is part of the works for the new Bernabéu station, which is how it will be named once reformed, with work expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.

The comprehensive renovation project is already nearing 45% completion.
